Phil Ivey Came and Went

Everyone wanted Phil Ivey to come back into the mix and he did. He played WSOP Event 2, Day 1 - $1,500 No Limit Holdem that started with 2101 players - it's a 3-day event.

Maria Ho raised to 450 holding J-10 and Ivey made it 1,600 to go from the small blind. Ho called. Ivey had 10-10 to Ho's J-10 and with a flop of 9-3-2 Ivey's hand looked pretty strong. The turned 7 and the 8 on the river ironed out Ivey's shot at a day of tournament play.

To make matters worse, the dealer must have been rooting for Ivey since he/she mucked Maria Ho's hand and it had to be retrieved from the muck with the help of the players at the table.
