Nevada Gaming Commission Meeting

Of course money is an issue. The question: Is Nevada short-changing itself when requiring interactive gaming license applicants to pay $500,000?

That is for an initial one-year license and every year's renewal after that would be $250,000. An 11-member Gaming Policy Committee will be working on an answer next month; that meeting is expected to be its final meeting.

According to, Gov. Brian Sandoval (head of the committee) led the debate when three speakers gave presentations about the current state of online gaming Thursday in Las Vegas. The economic development opportunities surrounding online gambling and, obviously, the fee structures in other states are being studied.

A stream of applicants are seeking licenses for online poker play in the state of Nevada and the first licenses could be approved as early as June 21st when the Nevada Gaming Commission meets.
