Partouche Poker Tour to End

In our latest Inside Shuffle we touched on the controversy that has been going on over the Partouche Poker Main Event €5,000,000 Guarantee.

Today has the story of the Partouche Poker Tour making this year its last hurrah – there will be no more tournaments.

The controversy is, obviously, over the €5,000,000 Guarantee. Tournament officials announced that 573 players were registered in the €8,500 Main Event and the entries came to a total of €4,264,580 leaving the prize pool short €735,420 of the guarantee.

The players created a tidal wave of comments and social media barbs that got this reply from Maxime Masquelier, Head of Partouche Poker Tour, “For a buy-in of €8,500 I think we can be proud of the final figure. At no time did we say that €5 million was secured when it is guaranteed in writing.”

The Partouche stance is they didn't guarantee anything and everyone else is claiming they did. It came down to Patrick Partouche declaring there would be no more Partouche Poker Tours moving forward.
