Update: Partouche Poker Tour

A few days ago social media was buzzing as flaming darts were hurled at the Partouche Poker Tour. Patrick Partouche flamed also and announced it was the end of the tour.

The controversy was over the €5,000,000 Guarantee. Tournament officials revealed that 573 players registered for the €8,500 Main Event and the entries brought the prize pool to a total of €4,264,580 leaving the prize pool short €735,420 of the guarantee.

The stance of the Tour was that they did not guarantee a €5,000,000 prize pool and the furor created from that statement brought out ads and videos that clearly stated otherwise.

An update in from PokerNews.com: "In a follow-up statement on Friday, Partouche maintained that the $5 million pledge was never set in stone, but said he will meet the guarantee after players were wrongly convinced through several ads for the tournament. He added that Jean-Jacques Ichai, the director of marketing for the tour, will not have his resignation letter accepted by the group."
